Illustrator

Amanda Shepherd is a wildly talented and wacky illustrator whose amazing color pallet and wonderfully playful spirit brought our “Such a Silly Baby” text to life.

Shepherd lives in Phoenix with her husband, Gary, and cat named Baby Cat. Her work area is the living room, which includes a drawing table and easel. She won the 2007 Ezra Jack Keats/Kerlan Collection Memorial Fellowship from the University of Minnesota, which included a trip to Minneapolis to visit and research the children’s book illustrations and manuscripts in the Kerlan Collection. She loves being an illustrator because she gets to work in her pajamas and create new worlds that didn’t exist before.
