Chill & Spill
Chill & Spill helps those who are in need of additional emotional support because of anxiety or depression, grief, loss, self-esteem, family difficulties and more. 100% of the proceeds help youth in crisis

Steffanie began working on this project with friend and colleague, Jeanean Jacobs, after the events of 9/11, after realizing that the overwhelming number of youth affected by the tragedy would probably never receive therapy to help them process their pain and anxiety.
After several years of research and writing, the book came off press right after Hurricane Katrina set down and ravaged the southern coastal states. She, Jeanean, and co-worker Vita Weinstein set off to Louisiana armed with 1,500 books to train school counselors on how to use Chill & Spill with kids and to work with children affected by the storm.
This guided journal features the art of 20 different illustrators whose work has been seen in ‘zines, the music and fashion worlds. Based in therapy, it offers the best kind of self-reflection, helping the user to better understand themselves and resolve issues that are troubling them. It has been used to help adolescents deal with everything from divorce to abuse.
It has been accepted into one of the world’s most revered Leadership Academies for Girls in South Africa, as well as hospitals, residential treatment facilities and schools in almost all of the English-speaking countries.

Some Feedback…
“Chill & Spill is a well-researched and very usable resource for working with teens and young adults who are suffering from depression, trauma and stress. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a hip, creative way to help kids deal with their emotions and channel their feelings in appropriate ways.” ~ Judy Ginsburgh, Arts & HealthCare Coordinator, Arts Council of Central Louisiana
“Chill & Spill helped me through a lot of stuff. It wasn’t just an ordinary journal where you just write your feelings down. It talked back to you. Instead of just writing stuff down and reading it over, it actually had some stuff to tell you after what you told it.” ~ Kayla, 18-year-old foster care youth, Seattle, WA
“Chill & Spill is a resource that can help people of all ages learn to heal themselves and their lives by eliminating destructive feelings and finding acceptance as it helps them open their hearts and minds to their inner wisdom.” ~ Dr. Bernie Siegel, MD, Author
